Research themes Research in the department focuses on four broad themes, with many investigators’ research programs spanning multiple themes: Data Sciences Health Equity Neurosciences and Pain Organ Injury in Surgery and Critical Illness Labs & groups Major research programs in our department focus on anesthetic mechanisms, cognitive outcomes, hypoxia and ischemia, pain, vascular disease, cerebrovascular malformations and stroke, lung injury, sepsis, antibody engineering, data science and bioinformatics, and health equity.
